Sad news out of the Mad River Valley. Skiier off trail, head first into tree.

I was riding there on Saturday of this past weekend and there was barely enough dust on top of the bulletproof snow to carve. It was scary how any non-groomed terrain was open. It was by far the worst day of the season, and worse than any day last season.

Trail he was on was groomed manmade snow and fine, by NE standards. The problem is once you slide to the edge of any trail, there is no berm of natural along the trail or in the woods to provide braking.

    Be careful, folks...
