Stratton

As the season winds down, rumors appear to be gaining steam amongst skiers and employees at Stratton. The Southern Vermont resort has been owned by Intrawest since 1994.

In January, Reuters reported Stratton's owner, Intrawest, was considering selling its ski holdings. Rumors continued to mount as Vail executives were seen in Vermont. Vail announced its acquisition of Stowe Mountain Resort last month.

According to multiple sources, prospective buyers have been rumored to have visited Stratton this winter, including in recent weeks. Stratton/Intrawest did not respond to a request for comment.

Snow Bowl Quad

In addition, a source reports surveying work for a possible Snow Bowl replacement lift may have been conducted recently. As of March 24, no new Vermont Act 250 filings have been recorded.

The 4,877 foot long Poma fixed grip quad was installed in 1986. The Snow Bowl is Stratton's only major trail complex without a high speed chairlift. Stratton/Intrawest did not respond to a request for comment.

The Snowbowl has been in need of a HSQ for years. Probably the mountain's best terrain, but that lift is a mess.
