Dutch Hill Work Day Oct 8

It's great to be able to share a post like this - while I can't make it (will be away for work), perhaps some Snowjournalers and Nelsappers can! From the Dutch Hill Association of Skiers and Hikers:

Loppers and swampers needed! Help us bring skiing back to Dutch Hill in Readsboro, VT. Sunday, Oct 8, 9-3. Nope, the lifts aren't coming back. This is for backcountry and XC skiing. We've gotten permission from the Forest Service and we're re-opening the Yankee Doodle ski slope and creating some glades in the mature woods. You can't use a chain saw on Forest Service land without their safety certificate, so bring your favorite hand tool, or just bring your muscles and "swamp" (haul away brush) for the certified sawyers. Everyone needs a hard hat and eye protection. Don't have that gear? Come anyway. We have some spares to lend. Also you must wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy footwear. Meet at 9:00 for the mandatory safety briefing in the parking lot on Route 100/Route 8, about 6.6 miles north of the Mass border, or 1.3 miles west of the 100/8 split. We'll have a BYO BBQ in the parking lot at the end of the day.
