Today I started my season at Bretton Woods. Ahead of time, forecasts made it looked like a cold, windy day, but there needed up being almost no wind and temperatures mostly stayed in the 20s all day. Skies were clear, but they had recently picked up about 3 inches of snow. The only trail open was Range View, accessed by the Zephyr High Speed Quad. Coverage was excellent and the edges of the trail were skiable thanks to the natural snow. Snowmaking was ongoing through the day across the mountain on both open and closed terrain. It was never too crowded and there weren’t any lines to get on the lift after first chair. It was an excellent first day and it seemed like a promising start to the season.
