Burke Mountain Employee Dies After Getting Ejected From Snowcat

By: Francis Xavier | December 18, 2017

Authorities in Vermont have confirmed a 45 year old man was killed in a rollover crash at Burke Mountain in East Burke, Vermont. WCAX reports Denny Degreenia, of Concord, was driving a snowcat and checking snow guns on the resort Sunday evening when the vehicle unexpectedly rolled over. Degreenia was ejected and later pronounced dead by rescue personnel. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Clifford Savage, 27, was also in the snowcat at the time but not seriously injured and was treated and released.

“We lost a beloved member of the Burke Mountain family last night … Everyone here at Burke extends Denny’s family our sincerest condolences and strength to help work through this extraordinarily difficult period.” – Burke Mountain statement

There is an investigation into the incident and we will update as the news comes in. Our thoughts and prayers are with Denny’s family and friends.

Very sad. Was on the Dipper trail. By all accounts he was an incredible person and will be sorely missed.
