Okemo 3/9/18

The first of 3 areas visited this weekend.
Left house around 4:40, arrived at Okemo around 9:50.
Report was 16-18" on top of the 12-14 they got the previous storm. 100% open, including the trees. They have tree runs at Okemo??
Deciding to go a bit further north on the VT spine seemed to have paid off. Never spent more than 10 minutes in line. Rode the Jackson Gore bubble solo 2 times.

Made my way first over to South Peak, a pod that has never been available to me when I have visited.
Everything was wonderful powder/packed powder. Double Diamond Glades was the best.

Time to tackle the main face runs. World Cup, Chief, Noreaster into Searles Way before lunch.

They weren't spinning the Glades Peak or Green Ridge chairs so stayed away from those trails. Besides, I've skied them before.
Never been to Jackson Gore when fully open, so that was my next task.
On my way over, decided to duck into Whispering Pines. Okemo has tree runs? Who knew?
Got four runs in at JG, with rights to say I finally got to ski Tuckered Out and Big Bang. Big Bang was ungroomed and a pure joy.

I would have liked to have stayed a bit longer but I had a brewery to go to and wanted to save my legs for the next day.
Left a bit after 3pm.

You ski because even if you don't do it well, it's still a blast....
