Stowe 3/10/18

edited March 13 in Trip Reports
First time skiing Stowe. I am usually on the other side of the Notch.
This has been on my list for some time. And, the Ski3VT voucher got me on the slopes for 1/3 the rack rate.

Arrived 8:25, lot at Mansfield Lodge about half full. Booted up and in line for the Four Runner Quad at 9.

Hayride, Liftline, Nosedive, with some groomed blues mixed between. Rimrock over to Perry Merrill and 2 rides on the Gondola before lunch. Snow was good, little to no ice encountered and trees were being visited by skiers and riders.

Legs were burning from yesterday and today. Age and being out of shape are taking over.
Decided a run on Toll Road was in order. Drove it Summer 2014, now I get to ski it.
Riding the Toll Road Double demanded patience. Not only is that thing slow, but the chairs were spaced 2-2.5 times apart from the norm.

Never spent more than 10 minutes in line for Four Runner and Gondy. All others were ski on.
Wanted to explore more but I was spent. Only touched the surface of this mountain and hope to come back.

You ski because even if you don't do it well, it's still a blast....

  • Wow nice crowd at the gondi, how long was the wait?

Maybe a bubble heated 8 seater or hybrid would move the crowds faster.

I heard it was running slower than normal due to winds and in the morning it was at least a 30 min wait.

I didn't spend any more than 10 minutes in the single line.
