Ted Reilly, Jim Dawson + Ciscokid @ Caberfae 12/1/18

Another fantastic outing with great surface conditions in changeable weather conditions of snow sleet and r---. This year Tim Meyer has put down the best manmade snow I have ever skied at Caberfae. With a strong east wind visibility was a factor at times but limited skier numbers essentially providing ski on all day. The line of choice was Canyon to skiers left hugging the tree line with a couple inches of wind blown to No. 1. We talked to a patroller named JJ who had been here since '72. He said it took him an hour to ski all the trails from one end to the other riding SIX T bars and a DOZEN rope tows.
Ted will come out with the numbers, I'm estimating 20 runs again. There is a 3-4' base now on the north peak which should handle a blow torch or two. Next week the snowmaking shifts to the south peak .

We had another of Jim's fine venison brat and burger lunches accompanied by some two hearted ale and an old school flask or two shared while riding the new Doppylmayr triple.

We concluded the fine ski day by toasting the great start to the season with the obligatory Bloody Mary and a massive $9 plate of the best French fries in the state.

Thanks Ted and Jim for another great day at Caberfa!
