NewEnglandSkier13 It was a surprisingly good evening at Lost Valley! I starting skiing mid-afternoon in light freezing rain, but it changed over to snow in the evening and eventually stopped. The new snow was a creamy layer on top of a good base which made for some amazing conditions. The snow that fell this evening accumulated quickly and it was one of the best surfaces that I've skied on in a while. Both chairlifts and roughly 75% of terrain was open. Lost Valley has some fun terrain for a mountain of its size, and the lifts are very well maintained. There wasn't quite enough snow for the new glades, but they looked like a lot of fun. The mountain has almost entirely switched to LED lighting now, and the mountain is very well lit. I've never seen a higher density of lights than on Bull Moose (see picture).

joshua_segal FYI NES13: I always enjoy and read your stuff, but I don't generally comment on trip reports unless I have something to add. Glad that cisco did to affirm that your postings are read and appreciated.

ski_it Oh I wrote this that day but decided it fit Black better..... "I took 2 flights, 3 trains & traveled 3,745 miles each way and your conditions look better." Did you ski that steep one, that I think is a trail, way skier's right in first pic?

The first pic is of Big Buck which is a blue, but I think the steep one you may referring to is Lynx (formerly Alpine East) which was also open and I did ski it.
