Camden Snow Bowl Update

Redevelopment Update

The Snow Bowl's making great strides in completing Phase II of the redevelopment. You'll see that the double chairlift has been relocated to the expanded beginner area. The new more moderate terrain is now serviced by two lifts including the magic carpet which was installed last season. You'll notice the brand new parking lot when you arrive. Underneath the parking lot, a sophisticated stormwater management system has been installed.

The Ragged Mountain Foundation is also making great strides toward finishing the campaign to complete Phase III, the construction of the new lodge. As you eat your pancake breakfast on Sunday, you can view the schematics for both the inside and outside of the new lodge. Currently the plan is to keep the old lodge for overflow programs and special events.

Remember that volunteer opportunities exist for helping us with ongoing tasks. On Sundays this month, the volunteer corps led my Steve Pixley is clearing glades on the mountain. Please let the staff at the ticket desk know if you're willing to lend a hand. Simultaneously, committees organizing Winterfest and the US Toboggan Nationals have volunteer roles to share with you. A new event planned for WInterfest week at the end of January is a family snow sculpture contest. This will coincide with the Maine Sanctioned Snow-Sculpting Competition that is held annually on the Village Green, and awards will be handed out alongside the pros. The Winterfest/Toboggan Championships theme this year is the Mardi Gras! More details coming soon...

See you soon at your back-yard ski area, the new Camden Snow Bowl!
