Lost Valley 2/9/2022

After the recent storms, Lost Valley was 100% open, but it likely won't last for long due to the warm temperatures. We got there around 4:30 and we're able to get one lap in on the until terrain before it was closed off for the night. I skied a glade called Weasel which had some thin cover, but wasn't too terrible. Besides the glades, there are only 3 trails which don't have lights, so the vast majority of the mountain was still open. The snow started off soft, but firmed up pretty quickly. As usual, it was pretty busy with lines running a few minutes long on Lift 1, but Lift 2 was usually ski-on.

Lift 1 is a Hall with wooden slats, and that area definitely feels like ~250' vertical. The Lift 2 area feels like more.

Yes, they are almost always packed. Their setting in a very narrow valley is definitely unique, and there is barely any room from the chairlift drives in the base area. The drive and loading area for Lift 2 are on a bridge over a stream.

My first experience there a few Thursdays ago was very positive. Lift 1 got busy with many high school racers.
