It was a great opening day at Titcomb today! With 1.5+ feet of new snow, they were spinning Lift 2 with all terrain open off of it, including natural trails. There was lots of untouched powder to be had, and it was busy from open until close! Conditions are about as good as I can remember for December, at least for now.

Yes, weekday evenings are usually busy at Titcomb because of the various race, after school, & college programs at the mountain.

Yep! No concerns here about a foot and a half of natural snow not being enough to open!

Not anymore. This is my 5th season skiing there, so it's been gone at least that long. Now I'm going to have to go look for remains of it in the summer!

Conditions were excellent again this evening at Titcomb! Things were very similar to Tuesday, except that there wasn't much powder left. It's too bad that this stretch of excellent conditions can't last longer.

Unfortunately the thaw took its toll on Titcomb, and they only had the Bunny and Pony open today. However, they had made a lot of snow on Otter Slide, Cougar, The Main, and Upper Fox, so those should reopen soon. The skiing was outstanding on what terrain was open today with a few inches of fresh dry powder and more falling throughout the evening. Opening was delayed by half an hour because there were no ski patrollers on the mountain, but, other than that, it was a great night at the mountain!

Tuesday, January 31

We've finally had an extended stretch of good conditions, and this evening at Titcomb was no exception! A couple inches of new snow freshened things up and made for excellent packed powder conditions. Both T-bars were open, and all of the night skiing terrain, except for the upper part of Otter Slide, was open. In addition, Little Jumper and Forster's Forest were also skiable until it got dark. Glades were skiing okay if you stayed where there were already tracks, but there was a nasty crust which made untracked areas almost unskiable. Surprisingly for a weekday evening, there were almost no lines at either lift the whole time that they were open, even with all of the after school programs going on.

Sunday, March 19

Today was a beautiful bluebird day for the dummy downhill and the last day of regular operations for the season at Titcomb. The mountain will be closed this week, but they plan to reopen next weekend, if the weather cooperates. Conditions were loose granular on groomed trails and frozen granular on ungroomed trails. The skiing on groomed terrain was excellent, with no ice patches to be found. Ungroomed terrain was firm and chattery, and they had Dare Devil's Plunge, Old Jumper, Final Fall, and Dire Straights closed due to the firm conditions. All other trails and glades were open.

Lift 1 closed around noon, due to the dummy downhill taking place in that area. That was a fun event to watch, and they also had a delicious homemade buffet at lunch. There were no lift lines in the morning, but lines were usually a few minutes long in the afternoon, due to only Lift 2 being open. Snow coverage is still excellent with no bare patches, except where there are wet areas, and they should have no problem making it to next weekend, if the weather is nice enough to open.
