We got this year off to a good start with a visit to BMOM to enjoy what finally feels like winter. They had both chairlifts running with all of Androscoggin, Sunday, and Ellis open. Conditions were generally good packed powder around most of the mountain. However, there were spots on both Lower Androscoggin and Upper Sunday where they had not had a chance to resurface since the rain. These two spots had a mix of frozen granular and ice. They were making snow throughout the day on Lower Androscoggin and Upper Sunday, so these spots should be gone soon. They were also blowing snow on Kennebec, which will likely be added to the trail count in the near future. The mountain was pretty quiet today, and the runs never really got scraped off. It was a good day of skiing to start the year, and let's hope that this cold weather continues!
