Today was an excellent midwinter day of skiing at Lost Valley! Every trail under and north of Chair 1, except for Possum was open with excellent packed powder conditions. There was snowmaking taking place at various spots around the mountain, and they must have recently installed snowmaking infrastructure on Lynx, as they were blasting snow top-to-bottom on it all day long. It was a chilly day, with temperatures in the teens, but it was tolerable thanks to the lack of wind. The mountain was a very comfortable level of busy. Almost every chair on both lifts was going up occupied almost all day, and almost every table in the lodge was taken, but there was never more than a couple minutes wait to get on the lifts, and there were always a couple free tables in the lodge. In my opinion, this is the perfect level of crowded for a profitable ski area on a weekend. As usual, Lost Valley provided a fun day of skiing!
