Started getting these long lines in 2021 when the plague was still a thing. I think that's what they meant when they said "we're all in this together" There was a bit of a lull in 2022 except on "LL Bean Days" but it came back with a vengeance last year and this year with the full-season LL Bean sponsorship. Beans was originally founded in Greenwood Maine so they support that community in a few different ways, biggest is they help underwrite the ski season. So
all adult lift tix are $35 per day every day. Also, a lot of the kids at the regional high school (and probably others) get free passes and free gear to use, I think that's a combination of local outdoors/civic groups, don't know if LL Bean has a hand in that.
Anyway it adds up to a bunch of people on weekends. But it's all good, the people are pretty chill. The other base area is an interesting crowd, tends to be a lot of young parents with kids on the carpet and a chair that serves real gentle terrain. Ages 5 and under are free.
I've never ridden that T-bar to the top. I've looked at it go up the steepest part of the mountain and I think the "T" stands for thrombosis on that one. At least in my case.
Glad to know it's open 100%
