Thanks to a few small storms throughout the week, and ongoing snow today, conditions at Saddleback were quite good! The new snow was rather wet and heavy, but it provided a nice alternative to the usual spring conditions this time of year. Roughly 70% of the mountain was open, including many natural snow trails and glades. There were plenty of thin spots and other obstacles to avoid on the natural snow trails, but that is to be expected this time of year. They were running every lift, except for Cupsuptic, which was nice to see because Sandy rarely runs this late in the season. The mountain was very empty today, especially in the afternoon, and there was never a wait for any chair. They are going to be open one more weekend, and there should be plenty of snow to get them through on their core terrain, although many of the natural trails and glades are unlikely to survive the week.
