They are opening this Saturday, 2/17 for snow tubing only.  I guess that is the big announcement?
  • I saw in the comments on their FB post w/Diet Coke from Tuesday, they said the state was still doing inspections on the lifts so my guess is that the inspection process is taking longer then expected. The new post about tubing also says maybe Sunday but soon about the mountain opening.

    Tubing opens Sat. at 10AM!
  • I'm going to assume they made snow on the tubing Hill?

If they did it is gone now...freaking hot out

That is a pretty big exaggeration. Temps are mild in Plymouth (but definitely NOT "hot", probably hit low to mid 40s at Tenney today) and there is tons of snow of ample base depth for tubing without man made snow (assuming they have not made any). 1-2' base around my house here in Ashland.

was low 50's in CVT yesterday. Did not freeze last night. Snow struggling to hang on, and next week is gruesome. Will be a tough holiday week, again
  • Tubing open today!

Beginner ski trail is now open off the platter pull and is included in the same $20 lift ticket as tubing. It is finally official!
    - Sam
  • Looks like finally an opening on Thursday, March 8th according to their Facebook page, for skiing on the upper mountain!
  • Good storm on the way for the opening

Be aware of a fake Tenney website with awful and nonsensical grammar:

    http://www.tenneymtn.com/the-home-of-skiers-snowboarders/

"When you go there, there are staffs who would welcome you an teach you
how to ski if you do not know, the best is the snow in every season. The
trails are the bets when compared to other mountains available for
skiing. Skiing in mountain will let you feel that you are the best skier
ever. Tenney Mountain is just a little bit windy. Well, this is
reasonable since it is a mountain. Wind is not a problem anyway."

"Snowboarding is really fun for since the area is wide and snow is really
amazing friend of snowboarders. Many Snowboarders would like to stay in
the mountain for this is the best mountain for them. The skiing and
snowboarding, price is not that questionable because it gives you the
best entertainment you are looking for. This means Tenney Mountain has a
perfect rate for  you on you vacation"

that site is obviously offshore, they're using a private registrar in the Bahamas.

I've had a lot of content stolen over the years, they tend to be in Russia or China.

In this case they swiped a photo that I took and posted here on snowjournal!!!

  • What do they get out of pirating that site?

  • Don't worry Rick - their "staffs" can assist you. :)

Can a timid intermediate (my mom) make it down Edelweiss?  Looks to average 17.6%, but are there any steep patches?
  • I wouldn't recommend 100% natural snow with terrain irregularities for a timid intermediate regardless of pitch.
  • Good point. I didn't think about water bars.
  • Will there be grooming this weekend?
