Not Stein Erickson.

Big clue here.

His initials are S. S. although his initials for his real name was V. S.

His girl friends initials C. L.

Yes Vladimir "Spider" Sabach. I was so upset when girl friend Claudine Longet shot Spider. In the early 70s I had front row seats watching Spider and Bill Kidd race at Hunter Mtn. I was the lift attendant on G-Lift. I got to load all the racers that day.

VELOCITOY sorry your lost of a good friend. Rumor has it Spider knew how to party. Good to remember the good things about people.

I think what Billy Kidd said about Spider was cool .

Billy Kidd remembers Spider Sabich for the way he made being a ski racer seem like the most exciting thing in the world. In fact, Kidd's fellow Olympian had a way of making everything seem like the most enjoyable thing in the world -- whether it be spending the night in a French jail on New Year's Eve or taking a rental car out on the Grand Prix course in Monte Carlo and living to tell about the early-morning time trial. "Spider could make going to the grocery store a great adventure," Kidd said.

HEY SP40S...That is/was SO true of him!!!...We would go out the night b4 a race & he would be the last one standing...BUT the first one on the hill on raceday like nothing happened!!!...He was one of those guys that you really enjoyed having around...At the time, I was working my way around the B-tour (same areas/time, less prize money) & some of the A guys (who will remain nameless) would designate a "SPIDER HANDLER"...The designated handler was to make sure he stayed out REALLY late & get him REALLY drunk so one of the other A tour guys could have a shot at winning!!!...It didn't matter!!!...He would ALWAYS be the top gun!!!...SP40s...THANX for those links...I'm gonna print those out & save em...BTW...I saw an "investigative report" on cable on him a couple months ago that wasn't too bad, but that's ALL I've ever seen on this subject...THANX...>>>SKIULATA>>>>[addsig]
