No really, Stratton is one of the answers. ;-)

We know that. That is apparently the only thing we (I) know.

Summary:1. Two New England ski areas both have a trail with the same name. At one, it’s an easy trail. At the other, it’s a treesy trail. Name it.2. One is a little unusual in that it never had any T-bars. The other once had 2 T-bars replaced by a chairlift.3. Both areas have had their vertical drop increased from when they first opened. One by going up in the 80’s, the other by going down in the 60’s.

Hint #1: the two areas have no lift manufacturers in common. As best I can tell, they hardly ever have, except for those two T-bars that were replaced by a chairlift.

Hint #2 Both have a magic carpet and just one other surface lift for skiing.

Hint #3: the trail name in common is a person’s name

Hint #3a: Not Saddleback, not Magic, not Cannon, not Jiminy

Hint #4: Each area has a signature lift like trams, gondolas and bubble chairs, etc.

Hint #5: Birds. Bird lake, bird mountain, bird skilifts. One of those 2 T-bar lines is now a bird trail.

Hint #6: Both areas’ signature lifts have had substantial upgrade or replacement, one in the 80’s and one more recently

Hint #7: The two T-bars were replaced by a double, but it’s not a double anymore.

Hint #7a & 8a: It’s Stratton and either Loon, Stowe, Sugarloaf, Snow or Cranmore

Hint #8: The chair that replaced the 2 T-bars shares a name with a ski area where a detachable chair was removed without replacement.

Hint #8b: Tamarack at Stratton is the old T-bar line.

You’d think hint #3 plus Stratton would now be enough, but there are this many named trails there:

Mike’s Way, Cabot’s Run, Craig’s Run, Daniel Webster, Ethan’s Alley, Flukey’s Run, Mark’s Run, Big Ben, Daniel’s Web, Churchill Downs, Janeway Junction, East Byrneside, Gentle Ben, Tink’s Link, Franks Fall Line, Stevek, Kidderbrook
