Oh yea, most anywhere has free skiing for octegenarians.

Those handwritten announcements are great. Already in 1957 they were using “a public ski area with a private club atmosphere” messaging.

The Lane brothers are 87 and 83. And yes - they are still skiing. Maybe we can arrange to ski with them at Mountain Creek this winter.

Benjamin Lane is a world known Nutritional Optometrist. He has 6 degrees: Princeton University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry, SUNY, NYU and 2 from Columbia.

Kenneth Bennett Lane is a world renowned Wagnerian opera singer.

From what I can make out of it, they were discussing a “high speed” chairlift.

Intriguing that from an article and our discussion that Ben spoke with Jean Pomagalski and Victor Hall and reps from Sun Valley. He also looked at a 3000 ' vert mountain near Windham (Blackhead?)he turned down.

I have a lot more to tell about these brothers all in good time.( on vaca)

Yeah, being a map nut, I’ve looked at the topo of the whole Blackhead range. The 3000 vertical is real. The problem is that the upper half of the whole range is double-diamond steep. And of course the lower elevations would need a ton of snowmaking.
