New Utah Resort: Cherry Peak

I got to tour the new ski area going in near Richmond, Utah.  Basically, a wealthy local guy is building a resort for the community that will be closed sundays (remember this is Utah.)

Thanks for the update, Peter! Great photos and info.

This is right up the road from my in-laws so i’ve been watching it closely and stopping by when we visit the family. 

They didn’t get open last year but now that I’m back in Utah I’m hoping to be there for opening day this Nov/Dec.

Opening day is officially set for December 21. 

Admire the effort, but not exactly the best combination for starting a tiny ski area at a low elevation in 2015.

to be honest, you have to be a little bit of a huckster to start a ridiculous idea like a new ski area.  huh ?
