And using that logic, I second Ski_It and call out any place in the midwest with "Alpine" in the name. Yes, downhill skiing, but some of these places have built hills with bulldozers.
Little Innsbruck (aka: Innsbruck USA), Lost NY, at 475' vert. and Klein Innsbruck, NELSAP, MA at 200' vert. probably fit into the same category as midwestern use of "Alpine".
