Remski Have you seen the Poland Spring ad on the TV? In the last scene there’s a Mt. with a snowfield and I believe it’s the back of Sugarloaf and the snowfields. If you’ve seen this ad what’s your take of that scene?
Chuckstah This one? Looks like the Loaf to me?? https://www.ispot.tv/ad/I8iS/poland-spring-natural-spring-water-protecting-maines-natural-resources
djaskipa68 Actually it could be the back side of Sunday River, mainly Barker Mtn and White Cap looking from Route 2. Poland Springs is close by and the watershed in that may feed their "spring".
joshua_segal This one? Looks like the Loaf to me?? https://www.ispot.tv/ad/I8iS/poland-spring-natural-spring-water-protecting-maines-natural-resources I don't think so. I agree with djaskipa68. Poland Springs is more toward the east, so Sunday River makes sense.
mapnut I'm almost positive that's Sugarloaf, as seen from near Kingfield. I haven't been there for 40 years, but I don't think the shape of the mountains has changed much. At left the cirque between Sugarloaf and Spaulding Mt; Burnt Hill in the middle, and a glimpse of Bigelow at the right, at the end of the commercial. I saw that view a hundred times driving up there in the 60s and 70s. Poland Spring gets their water from all over the place these days.
mapnut I partially correct myself. The dark mountain just right of center (end of commercial) is probably Black Nubble (el. 2904), not Burnt Hill, but it's in line with it. I still think that's Bigelow on the right.
ski_it Yeah but when they say glacial aquifers don’t they mean from underground and not those rapids they show?
