Great snow this morning. Dad was visiting and I joined him for some runs before work. Pulled into Main Base, started to walk to the ticket window to get Dad's ticket, saw a line of 100+ people waiting to get tickets, walked back to the car and drove to Carinthia. What the heck was going on today?
Park event at Carinthia but Nitro was ski-on.
Did some cruisers down the front side, then Cloud Nine before heading back to work. Great groomers everywhere we went. Fingers crossed for weekend weather... at least for equal or net snow.
Friday is the new Saturday at Mount Snow crowd wise these days.... And "regular" Saturday is now a Holiday Saturday at Mount Snow.... And a Holiday Saturday is pushing uncharted territory now crowd wise at Mount Snow....
If you find some random, non Holiday say Tuesday - Thursday to go, and then cross your fingers and toes, it *might* be like the "old" light crowd days....
Now if Vail would just staff the mountain accordingly, more days a week, and spin more chairs, and do so from the opening bell and not just with delayed openings and early closings, then you'd have the mountain in a position to handle the real, modern day crowds, and not just using the old, historical model for day to day lift operations...
