Best advice: demo (sometimes easier said than done). Mount Snow has a demo day on 12/14 if you can wait that long and can make it there:

Once Butternut opens their demo tent, that's a great option to have demos right next to the lift. I think it's $50 for the day and they'll apply that to purchase if you buy a new pair that day (most places do). I think Stowe's demo shack is right next to fourrunner lift?
