Mount Hood, if they can figure out a way to make it work, will be a good sign as to what ski areas may need to do next season, and how they can change and adapt based on what they see day in and day out via the large number of athletes and coaches who show up from basically mid/late May through mid/late August for Summer ski and ride camps.
Since they can easily get 1500 to 2000 people up on the hill, and all use the same 1 to 2 lifts (depending on where their training lanes are and if the snow still is plentiful enough to ski/ride back down to Timberline lodge), and that scenario goes on with fairly constant day to day volume most every day of the week for those 3 months, there will be time to experiment with lift served in the era of social distancing if they're able to open.
