I too am always happy to give tours, too.

Solstice Glade's skiable terrain has been augmented by about 2-acres, mostly on the eastside (parallel to Galaxy). It is nicely limbed, de-stumped and de-rocked and will ski well with as little as 3" of natural snow. It will add many great powder stashes late in the day for those rare powder days we get!

It will be interesting to see how the shell of an operating plan VAIL provided is formed to meet the characteristics of individual areas. It covers the big 9-4 areas out of the box, but the smaller night skiing areas could benefit from some adjustments.

Take Crotched, my suggestion would be roughly the following:

Monday thru Thursday one pass/reservation for night and day would be fine there are seldom crowds.
Friday daytime is normal, daytime crowd wears out by 5:00. But, Friday night especially with Midnight Madness has seen party crowds. A separate night ticket/reservation with a full groom, bon fire, deck beer bar & band outside might keep things hopping & safely spaced - wear your mask its cold. Bring your blanket, chair & Wine Bota , fireworks at 11. Let the few remaining day people remain if they want, they're not doing many more runs.
A Saturday Day/Night split with full groom would provide a second choice if the day sessions filled everywhere.
Sundays 9-5 is what it is, but no 1pm discount family passes packing the lobby.

Or we just could go 9-5 daily - boring, but better than 4 sessions per day!

So it's basically like Liftopia now and you have to plan all of your days well ahead of time?

If you can figure out how to do it seven days at a time, you'll be all set. ;)

Makes me wonder if they have some way of throttling reservations for passholders once they've got their seven days in....

Q: What happens if I miss my reservation?

A: Our goal is to accommodate everyone who wants to ski and ride at our mountains this season. To make that happen, you should ONLY book week-of reservations for days that you plan to use. If you abuse the system by repeatedly missing or cancelling week-of reservations (or Priority Reservation Days that you booked within 2 weeks of the reservation date), you may lose your reservation privileges for a period of time. This season, we are all in this together. Thank you for understanding!

Every time I hear someone say "we are all in this together" I want to jab a ski pole in their face. And I hear it a lot. It's just a euphemism for "you have to suck up our sucky policies because of the pandemic."

I feel like saying "I'm not in this with you. I hate this crap, and I hate your policies." But of course I don't say that. I just smile through my coffee stained mask.

The bolded part has been changed since the 1st draft. Now they might penalize you if you cancel your reservation?... Before they said as long as you cancelled your reservation prior to midnight the night before, your were good. I had accepted the reservation thing.... but now it's different. Can you imagine - you cancel your reservation at 11:15pm the night before because it's southern VT and the 14" of powder turned to 3" of slop followed with freezing rain so you get your reservation rights pulled.
