Well Jay Peak is great as well. Quite a few ski areas in New England now. Not sure the $199 price can support much more.

As long as the pass usage remains low (I think I read it was similar to any other pass) the number of ski areas on the pass relative to the pass price shouldn't matter that much, right? If the average passholder only uses it 8 days or whatever? The more the merrier, I say! Though I wonder if Jay will remain on the Indy when they can have Canadians again?

I think this is a one and done for Jay (I have no inside information on that, just my guess). It is a good way to supplement their revenue due to no Canadian traffic. Get people to the resort with a cheap ticket price (very low yield I assume, not sure how that works with the Indy Pass, but their revenue per ticket cannot be very much given the low pass price). Then get them into lodges, get them at dinner tables, etc. Maybe make some long term conversions. Then back to normal next year.

Between Jay, Cannon, and Magic... that is some damn fine skiing on the cheap. Plus, visit some lesser known mid-sized areas and milk it. Could be one of the best value passes ever, especially with the lack of blackouts at most places. I assume Jay will actually have blackouts? I don't think any other eastern areas have blackouts.

Yes, I hope other passholders use it less often, but if all works out well for my season, and I get 10+ Indy pass days in, that's less than $20 revenue per ski visit (since the pass takes a cut off the top for marketing/administrative expenses). I would assume some ski areas would balk if that was the average, though I think that the actual average last year was only 4 visits per year? Someone correct me if I am wrong.
The storm podcast mentioned that there are no blackouts for Jay this year.

How do you use indy pass in covid days? Do i just walk up to ticket box office and show it? Do i have to book ahead of time? last year it was at costco for 174 a little later in season anyone seen them their yet?

Guessing they won't feel the need to sell discounted at Costco with their 630% sales increase as of the beginning of this month.

If the area is using a reservation system then you must too. If they are only doing online tickets, then presumably thats how you'd secure your ticket. Obviously in both cases you would need to present ID to someone "somewhere" to get the ticket, but I doubt its inside some ticket office.
