lotsoskiing Went there New Year's Day a few years ago (2017) with the kids. We pulled in and they woke up and asked, "We drove an hour for this??" By the third run they were hotting and hollering, skiing all over the place. One of the top ski days I can recall... My report: http://www.snowjournal.com/discussion/comment/14555#Comment_14555
conrad Great video. Thanks for sharing. I'm fortunate enough to have gotten a day in there. Great spot, wish there was a ski area like it closer to me.

IBRAKEFORTBARS This place deserves a NELSAP/Snowjournal day visit. I’d fly to VT just to ski there. Ciscokid is expected to attend as well. 😆 IBRAKE
ciscokid Interesting history of the Tbar New at Stratton early ‘60s, then to Bradford and then NE slopes for 70k. Pretty darn good resale. Do you think it was more than 70k new? ( just the unit, not installing) Good looking trail at NE slopes

Really fun with a little steep shot at the end. The day I skied it the conditions were just like in the photo. Dreamy.
conrad Here's my photos of a ski day from February 17, 2019. https://www.remontees-mecaniques.net/bdd/station-northeast-slopes-1231.html (translate button in upper right corner) Note the last photo of a pie chart in their base lodge. A whopping 42% of their expenses is insurance, by far the biggest category. Lift reports to follow...

bmwskier It's what killed Norwich's ski area. We had a few bad winters and then I heard an insane amount (50 grand or so) to be able to spin the lift. Didn't matter if we opened or not, just to have the capability to do so. At that point the Board of Trustee's pulled the plug and sold the lift to Pat's Peak afterwards.
newpylong Insurance (liability and workmens comp) and electricity were my archnemesis at Whaleback as well.
ski_it The big rope wasn't running the time I finally got to ski there. :( Took a few visits to be able to find NES open. I did ride the little one. Looks like wood on their T-bar too. Edit: I just looked at their trail map and they are called the Big Rope & Small Rope Tows.
