NewEnglandSkier13 Today was a perfect bluebird day at Lost Valley! They had most of their core terrain open (the area between the lifts) and the snow was in great shape. Rabbit Run was open with natural snow and it had thin cover, but all the other trails had snow made on them. It was relatively busy and there were lines that reached a few minutes long, but they opened Lift 2 around noon which dispersed the crowds. The trails and base area never really felt crowded. The lodge was open for changing, warming up, and eating food bought there, but since it was warm, we booted up and ate outside. They also had warming huts at the top of Lift 1 and between the two chairs in the base area, but they didn't receive much use today. Most people were wearing face masks and stayed pretty well spaced-out. It's encouraging to have seen people following the rules at the places I've skied so far and I hope it will help keep the ski area open all winter. Lost Valley also makes some of the best whoopie pies that I've had. Definitely worth trying if you ski there!
lotsoskiing Nice! Are LV and Macintyre the only places with the covered bullwheel "hats"? I think Belle Mt in NJ had them too. This is the year to go to the Little Guys...avoid the huge conglomerate areas.

I definitely agree with that statement, expect it should be every year!
lotsoskiing Nice pics Yea are those “hats” a Hall design ? Lotsokiing, did you ski Belle in central NJ? No, just have seen pics

ciscokid Looks like a nice 240’ vertical Midwestern hill Some nice glades? Tell me about these “whoopie pies”?
NewEnglandSkier13 That place is so cool, and well run to boot. Yes, it's definitely well-run! It's great to see all of the changes made since the new owner took over.
NewEnglandSkier13 Looks like a nice 240’ vertical Midwestern hill Some nice glades? Tell me about these “whoopie pies”? Yes, there are some excellent glades, especially for a ski area of its size. Although it is similar to a midwestern hill in stats, I think the way the trails and glades are cut and laid out is different than what you'd find in the Midwest usually. https://www.boxofmaine.com/maine-whoopie-pies/
newpylong Is it still Scott from NDT? No better owner/operating than someone who's been in the weeds.
