MrMagic John will fire it up anytime today for anyone comming by. Conditions are great !! More later got to go ski
ski_it Sorry to say but they are done for the day. MrMagic's 2nd pic - above, be of me riding the rope.
ski_it NE Ski Area #102. Met MrMagic and had a nice conversation. Had several nice talks with the owners between runs. They were gracious hosts. It was so nice of them to do this! The gentleman in the like 8 pic down skied at the tow’s previous location 60 years ago. He’s 80 and met his 60 something nephew today to do some runs. The lift lines were atrocious. There was never more than 5 people at a time skiing! We both expected more people but I guess the weather, the game and COVID kept them home. The ride home was sketchy John, Sue and Mrs Ski_it
ski_it Don’t know who vintageneskiing might be. Sorry for the sideways pics. It’s a 8hp motor. He got the rope from someplace in FLA. Rope is like 840 ft long so a 400 ft long slope
MrMagic Awsome day I couldn't have summed it up better than skiit did. Great meeting everyone and thanks for john and sue for inviting us !!

jaytrem Wish I got there a bit earlier to meet everyone. Was slow going with the snow. Took an extra 1/2 hour. We went to the house at the top at first, nobody home. Then checked SJ. Was dissapointed, but figure I'd let the girls take a couple laps and I'd pull them back up. Was just finishing up when John and Sue came out and fired it back up. Super nice people! Skied for about 1/2 an hour and had a blast! I'll post some pics later. Anybody know the vert? Need to add that to my ski area skied list.

JMaul So glad some SJ folks made the trek and enjoyed some runs. Thanks for the updates and pics. Special thanks to John and Sue for sharing their little slice of heaven. Reading this thread has warmed my heart. <3
ski_it NewEnglandSkier13;c-46837 wrote 100' vertical according to NESH https://newenglandskihistory.com/Massachusetts/waidlich.php I layed my app tracks over Google Earth. We know neither is all that accurate but the top tracks look in the right place in relationship to the buildings. 324 top elevation and I hit a low of 268 which is 56 feet. You could continue if you wanted to for another 200 ft past the lift, practically to the farmhouse, and it's 80 ft total drop. But no one was doing that. It may be that this tow was shorten as there is a new house right above it, but it would have to be more than 3 times its' current length to hit a 100.

Maybe NESH used some of the "creative vertical" techniques mastered by some commercial resorts... :D
