lotsoskiing;c-51656 wroteI will jump in with the usual comment: I am always amazed by how many people clamor to ski on a WROD (or 2) in November, and trails look like ants on a puddle of fruit punch, when often times in March and April, ski areas close with well over half their terrain open, even before the snow turns to mashed potatoes. I know: the lure of golf, yard work, biking, and spring school sports, yadda yadda yadda. Regardless, it still blows me away. Love to see the enthusiasm for the sport, but it is not for me. I'll wait until more terrain opens and snowpack deepens (hopefully).
The fact is, that a very small percentage of skiers are out early and late season. The reason Killington is crowded (besides the fact there are only 2 open trails), is that there is no one else open.
