Finally back on the downhill skis for the first time this season! Saddleback had all 2,000 vertical feet open with Tri Color open from the Kennebago Quad, Green Weaver & Grey Ghost open from the Rangeley, and Royal Tiger off of South Branch. They were making snow in the morning on the open terrain and the guns were running very wet which made them not much fun to ski under. Luckily, they shut the guns off throughout the morning. Coverage was pretty good on open terrain, but there were some rocks and ice patches showing through in places. It looks like they are focused on building base on their currently open terrain, and the only other trail which looks like it may open soon was the terrain park. Things were mostly back to normal after the weirdness last season, and it was nice to be able to boot up in the lodge and bring my own lunch in to eat again. Here's to hoping for some more natural snow soon!
