Apparently, when Crotched Mountain re-opened in 2003, they ran a contest to determine what the theme of the trail names would be. Space related names in general and Star Trek in particular was the winner.

On the west side of the lodge stands Rocket Man, as shown below. Note the inset in the left corner of the photo shows Rocket Man is equipped with a runaway strap rather than a ski brake!
