I'm going to guess that your comment was meant for me and I'll respond. You can put words in my mouth as much as you like it, but they're still your words not mine.
We are in a thread called "Stowe Paid Parking Wknd Holidays". So I'm here talking about paid parking at Stowe. Talking about historical season pass prices is just an off-point diversion. You might consider making a separate thread for that, it would probably be interesting.
My point is, that Vail has chosen cost-based solution to their overcrowding problem (a problem that they created by overselling passes). If the intent is to reduce the amount of people on the mountain via reducing the amount of people parking, then there are non-cost-based ways to do it which are more equitable for everybody who bought the pass that Vail offered. Reservation systems, lotteries, etc allow every pass holder an equal opportunity to use the product that they purchased. Vail's fee-based system is a money grab disguised as a solution to the problem that they created.
It goes without saying that they could also solve the problem by just choosing to sell less passes.
