Last Saturday CROTCHED had what they called a block party which was a combination recruiting tool & party for staff & public that knew about it.
Very low-key with music, free food, beer sampling, some kids activities, photo opportunities at the base of West and some tractor rides in a decorated transport cart.
The general manager and new mountain manager were floating around talking with everybody plus many of the department managers were there to talk with folks.
Staffing is coming along pretty well but they still need people for serious jobs like machinery maintenance, grooming and snow making. If you're looking for a real job in the industry (that pays) this may be the year to break in as they expect to be training.
A fourth Piston Bully (used) is expected soon from Okemo. It is supposed to be in good shape and ready to run. Also learned our PB 210 with the bucket lift on it will be retired, too much wrong with it to keep running. Felix, our original general manager, and the builder of the new Crotched Mtn. for Peak Resorts brought it East with him from Paoli peaks where he used to manage.
