12/28 Whiteface or Gore??? Opinions

We are debating between Whiteface or Gore for tomorrow 12/28. We've just spent 3 days at Whiteface and will be driving back to NYC after skiiing. We're thinking that a change of scenery may be in order.
Other thoughts?

Why not cut an hour+ off your drive and ski something different.

Will be extremely crowded at Gore. If you want to enjoy uncrowded, albeit mellow, skiing for 1/3 the price, give Oak a try. A bit out of the way (45 min west from Gore), but a fun, family-run place. Will be groomed to perfection. You can get a 4-hr pass for $40. Food in the lodge is outstanding.

Royal Mountain is another great option with some fun terrain, and affordable prices. They're also close to 100% open!

I cannot overstate how car adverse my family is. They also tend to stay to one area. Skiing a day or two at MRG when we are at Sugarbush for the week is stretching for them. I was pushing for Gore, but it added 20 minutes to the total return trip so they nixed it.

I would really like to get to Oak, but no way they would sit in the car for it. Same for Royal.

Jeremy, We have frequent skier cards so they would've sold us tix.

Whiteface was an Icy zoo. (Shocking!) Very few black diamonds open. None from the top. They had a couple of natural cover trails open. Empire was a lot of fun on Monday until I face planted. They closed it Tuesday. We spent time on the lower part of Essex (Thin Natural), to On Ramp to Lower McKenzie (Thin Natural) and lapped the double to the mid station for Mountain Run (Ice) to Lower Wilderness (Thin Natural) Lines were tolerable until today.

They were blowing on a lot of the lower mountain plus upper thruway. They were not blowing on Skyward or Cloudspin.
