Black Friday deals on Ski Ticketts

Well for just one area I went to the Kill site and they say this: PLAN AHEAD: All lift tickets, rentals, and lessons must be purchased online, no in-person sales are available.
But that maybe for early season..IDK
No doubt there are others.

Sunday River does the same, but I think those tickets are $79. Not the greatest deal, but still a lot better than the window rate.

It's always like that now. I used to go to K regularly. Pretty much done with there until the next time I have an Ikon. I don't like planning. Or close to $200 lift tickets.

Yeah, that's kind of absurd that they won't even sell you a ticket at the mountain if you want to pay their insane prices. I almost never purchase tickets in advance of when I ski, I prefer the freedom of going where the snow is good.

I guess if they have the demand although I’m amazed on some weekdays that would be the case. If that’s their policy fine, but it should be real CLEAR on their sites.

I’ll have to ask my friends the deets again but IIRC they went to Kpeak midweek last year ~~with vouchers but could not get tixs.~~
Edit: I had it wrong. They had Whaleback Season Passes which in previous years had a great discount at Killington and other places. But when they went to KPeak last season, no discounts. Unclear to me if that year's WB pass had been advertised that way & the benni removed during the season or not.

To me both the financial pressure to buy ahead of time, and in some cases the inability period to buy at the mountain has really taken a lot of the fun out of the sport for me. I tend to make very spontaneous decisions based on a number of different factors. Not anymore... I give the mountain's that still offer reasonable walkup rates huge props.

From seeing that on the site it was my assumption you can buy day of for Killington, you just must use the site to get the ticket. No people in the windows.

I’m surprised it’s taken areas this long since that’s a job that can easily be gotten rid of, especially now these big areas have all gone cashless.

Yes, you could buy a ticket day of from your car, or in the lodge. They have kiosks for ticket pickup. Top dollar day of.

See my KPeak edit above as I had the story wrong. I was thinking of places that limited ticket sales. And I don't think they do..do they?
IDK if it is all Vail Resorts do this but Sunapee at least will refund your ticket, day of, if you do not use it. Subject to their terms & conditions. You can also buy a multiday ticket then ski a window of days. Ex. Any 3 days within a 5-day window.
