I just saw a story about the new owners and it's rebirth in the Brattleboro Reformer. Good to see that someone bought the place and is bringing it back to life! Might have to alter my typical route too Mount Snow on Friday in the near future and catch an early dinner to see what the new owners have done!

And on a similar note, the Former Dot's of Dover near Mount Snow, which then became Betsy's, before the owner Betsy passed away a year or so ago (I might be off on that time frame a bit as things just all morph together...) Just reopened in the last 2 weeks as 1 MTN, for breakfast and lunch. Hearing generally good things about the food so far, haven't been there yet either, but it is on my radar screen in the not too distant future

The Red Coach Grill, later the Coachman, on Rt 9 in Queensbury, NY, just south of Exit 20 on the Northway. We used to stop in there for dinner on Sunday night on the way home from Killington to NJ. They had a monster salad bar and kids ate free with an adult meal.
When I had a place at Gore, we continued to stop until it closed in the 2000s (?). The building was built out of Adirondack white pine. I loved going in there as a kid.

Just up the road was the Montcalm, that was another landmark.

It's a shame that Cochman and Montcalm are gone. There are still some classics though in that area- the Log Jam https://www.logjamrestaurant.com/menus/ at the outlets, Caldwell House is another - https://caldwellhouserestaurantandmartinibar.com/

The Montcalm might have been out of our price range, but I do not remember. We probably ate there once or twice. The Log Jam replaced the RCG/Coachman for us on our travels to Gore.

Speaking of HoJo’s there used to be one in Greenfield Mass that we used to stop at almost religiously on our way north from Connecticut. It’s an Applebees now but who knows how long that’ll be there.

Birches was a nice restaurant (great eggs benny). Not a diner per se, and also no longer in business, which is sad... Went there last fall when we went to Dog Mt.

Did you make it to the new Royal Diner? How was it? Its has generally good reviews so far.

wondering if somebody might mention Sandy's Drive-In in Sharon VT, now shuttered. Summer type place, not open during ski season so I guess it doesn't fit the thread. My family owned & operated it 50 years ago when I was a teenager. Word is a new owner is hoping to open a dispensary there.

Another place worth mentioning, albeit not a diner, was the Dog Team north of Middlebury VT. That place was off the charts. Sad story there. Last time I went, we drove up and the fire (previous night) was still smoldering. My brain couldn't process what I was seeing.

Agreed on both. Dog Team is a crazy story IIRC. Definitely not a diner, but fantastic nonetheless.
