Looks like an interesting place and an interesting history, but I can also see why it's cheap.
- One triple chair, one t-bar (well, and a short beginner one), they're both ~40 years old, and neither run T2B. A good third of the place seems to only be skiable by a long set of traverses, that'll require riding both lifts to lap at present. Seems perhaps intended for an (unbuilt) lift to serve it directly.
- Resort lodging options appear to be a old + rustic/no-frills hostel, a few prefab looking lodging units that I'd more expect to see at a mine or oil field, and a few private homes.
- Natural beauty isn't exactly improved by the 600ft wide slash + multiple high-tension lines running horizontally across the middle of the mountain, nor by the pipeline cut running across the base area.
- It's deep in the middle of nowhere, far enough that no metro area can reasonably drive to it. If you do get a flight to YXS or YXJ, you're still talking a 2-3hr drive on an extremely remote highway with limited cell service.
I'd probably enjoy visiting some day, but I also think it may be pretty tough to make a lot more than it is out of it, even if you did have deep pockets.
