New Google Earth Images of Various Ski Areas

Google Earth recently dropped some aerial imagery which include some ski areas that hadn't been imaged in a while. A good one is Gore, picture below, from 4/28/25. In the new image, you can see Backwoods on Burnt Ridge, the new (and almost never open) entrance to Upper Steilhang, the new beginner quad and the corner cut off Sunway, and the Ski Bowl lodge being constructed. There are more new images out there - post below as you find them.

Since I have all of New England bookmarked here's what I get for the latest, 2025 & 2024 at their lodge locations plus a few others thrown in.
Late in the game I noticed some areas have 2 images with wildly separated dates, so others may too. See Killington & Whiteface.

Re: the parking at Ski Bowl - that's one of those unanswered questions. When you see the 2025 imagery, even if you cleared the patch of trees a few feet NW of the lodge, and even if you fill all the other nooks and crannies and park along the roads there, there will not be a lot of parking. It's going to be a great lodge, but I bet it will be empty most of the time because of the lack of parking, and the still lack of trails in the Ski Bowl (people aren't going to ski those same 4-5 all day). And it's quite exhausting going back and forth from there to the main mountain.

Mount Snow's is likely around the 1st or 2nd week of April based on both how much snow is still on the trails, and when I zoom into where my condo is I can see a bunch of fresh woodchips infront of my neighbors condo from when the had "view enhancement" tree clearing done in early April this year

While stepping thru these I believe 2013 was the oldest I noticed.

Sugarloaf's 6/8/25 map is now up on Google Earth.

A few years ago, Google Earth gave several dates going back over years for images. One could usually find at least one in the winter. Snow on trails shows the trails better. Since I got my new computer a few months ago, I've not seen this feature on GE. Am I not finding it or have they ended it?

it's still there. go to view, check the little box next to toolbar. on the toolbar it's the little clock icon with the green counter clockwise arrow

you can also just go to view and click historical imagery and it will be there all the time

Its amazing how large whiteface is and how limited its terrain is, its a very narrow mountain.

It is absurd, but (as you know) it is due to the incredibly stupid NYS constitutional mileage limit of 25 miles for total trail length at WF. Various sites state that Whiteface trail length is currently under 23 miles.

Where would new terrain fit? Pretty pinched, aside from maybe the Marble Mt/Wilmington Trail area.

There are pre-approved plans to add trails on Lookout Mountain, and another from top of the Freeway lift, and a few short trails elsewhere. We'll see if they ever get built. Gore has had similar pre-approved trails for decades and only a few have come to fruition (like Half and Half and the new entrance to Steilhang).

Does Gore have this same type of restriction?
