Nice to see a ski area innovating and getting creative to make things new and different. Seems like the Meagaplexes just raise prices and call routine maintenance an “upgrade” to the “snow sport product”.

I hope they succeed and I am trying to find a way over there this spring

I skied Black today. They made a lot of snow this weekend. There were large whales on trails. All the snowmaking trails were open with deep bases . Things warmed up so nice carving conditions.

My family is renewing our passes for next year.

Every other sport has extended their season: Black claims to be a testbed for innovation for the smaller areas. I hope that they can demonstrate the ability of the ski industry to market the late season product. Anyone skiing the last few days with the exceptional spring conditions knows it already - and short lines to boot.

joshua_segal I typically don’t get a beer at the mountain during peak winter. I am usually too busy skiing. On sunny late season spring days I will buy a beer in the afternoon. I wonder if they sell more food/drink on warm sunny days late season to justify the work to stay open longer.

Now we can have champagne at 4000 feet in New England! They better talk to some european resorts to learn how to handle it at altitude.

From their 4/21/2026 report.
With no official closing day in sight, we keep charging forward.
Lifts are spinning daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM through April 24, with weekend hours extending to 7:00 PM on Saturday and 5:00 PM on Sunday.
All of this momentum is building toward one of the biggest celebrations of the season. Friday Night Lights wraps up on April 24 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM with a finale event at the Alpine Cabin, setting the stage for Champagne Fest weekend.

From April 24 through 26, Champagne Fest takes over the mountain. The weekend features Ski Sweater Day, the Champagne Pond Skim, a Veuve Clicquot dinner paired with live music from E Block, and wraps up with a Champagne Brunch on Sunday. It’s a full weekend of spring skiing, events, and on-mountain celebration.
We’re open, we’re making snow, and we’re pushing this season as far as it will go.

Amazing! Who ever thought that this small and almost lost area is going to compete with Killington for the longest ski season in the East. Even Camelback in Pennsylvania is still making snow and will ski into May. Now, we need to get Jay Peak to step up and join the club!

Today was fun. Not the best spring day, but soft snow ttb with the new snow making. Tomorrow should be even better.

Back at it today, but with sun! Everything was groomed overnight, and the snow got sticky in the flats by noon.

Chuckstah Looks good! Do you think there’s enough snowpack to last till the weekend of May 9-10? Might try to get up there for some final turns if so.

I think the first weekend in May is almost a lock. It’s hard to tell if it will make it another week after that, but I wouldn’t bet against it. They will 100 percent make more snow if the weather gives them an opportunity (direct from management). Events are planned through Memorial Day

Skied today. Snow is still deep especially below the mid station. I’d suspect one more week from the top and two more from the midstation. Possibly Memorial Day from the mid station.

Fun day and the vibe there is so much fun. I went to the bar afterwards for 90s hip hop cover band which was a great time.

I’ll be back there tomorrow first thing.

Black plans on making snow at the top tonight. There was an arsenal of snow guns set up at the summit.
