Vintage 11 min. video starts in the 30s and ends, it says in the 60s, maybe early 60s. Much of it is from the East. Perhaps ¾ way through there might be a western area. It is all in fast motion. I guess it gives more action in 11 min.

FYI, with YouTube you can adjust the playback speed by clicking the Gear icon and looking for “Playback Speed” (you may have to scroll). I set playback speed to 0.9 or 0.85 and it made it easier to take in some of the details of the video without making it seem too slow.

Great Video! I started skiing in 1967 at the age of 7 at a little area in W. Springfield Ma. called Paucatuck Ski Area. It was a small hill run by the local Y.M.C.A.. My first day I not only had to learn how to ski but also how to ride the rope tow. It took some time to figure out how to ride it without falling and being dragged up the hill. The base lodge was a small building with gravel floors and a big round fireplace in the center. My first pair of skis were made of wood with the cable bindings and my boots were leather with metal buckles. I wish I still had the boots but back then the ski shop would allow you to trade in equipment towards new gear and that’s how my parents could afford to keep me skiing. I still have the skis though. I did yardwork for neighbors during the summer/fall to pay for my lift tickets.
