Very sad news to report., Russ was a huge advocate of trying to get the original Bearpen Mountain ski area in Prattsville, NY reopened. A group of us were very fortunate to get a tour of the old Bearpen Mountain ski area with Russ and the original owner Benjamin Lane in July 2015. It was truly a day to remember that I will always remember.
On his Facebook page it was posted today: It is with great sadness that we announce Russ’ passing the morning of December 31st after a 9 year battle with cancer. He departed peacefully. As per his request, no service will be held but his ashes will be laid to rest on Bearpen Mountain this summer. Please direct any questions to Nicole Foster.
