snowphoenix Thursday ⅛/26 https://www.newenglandskiconditions.com/viewreport.php?reportid=4118 Fun day at Loon with comfortable temperatures in the 30s, partly cloudy skies, and pretty much the whole mountain open apart from Triple Trouble, the Timbertown area, and some of the glades. It felt decently busy for a weekday but lines were usually only a few chairs. Conditions were good wet packed powder on most trails, with the highest elevations having a lighter, more typical packed powder surface. Some of the steeper trails got a bit skied off going into the afternoon which I feel like is pretty typical for Loon. Towards the end of the day I took a victory lap on the Kissin’ Cousin Double just for fun and since I hadn’t ridden that lift on any previous visit to Loon. It’s a pretty interesting beginner area, with the lift being relatively steep and the run (Snubber) switchbacking its way down the mountain. A bit different from the typical wide bunny hill. Hopefully we get a few good storms in the second half of January after this little warm spell! ciscokid Very nice report as usual Phoenix. My brother and his family were there a few days before you. I think it was the sixth on a Tuesday so a couple days before you and I like the product that is presented. They’re at long. I think they get the tickets ahead of time for like 70 bucks or something which is not too outrageous in today’s world but seems like Boyne Does a pretty good job there? My brother-in-law who passed the 70 age group got out and skied with his grandson and my brother-in-law had not skiing close to 50 years he said and my young buck brother of 62 is still boarding away
snowphoenix Monday 1/20/26 https://www.newenglandskiconditions.com/viewreport.php?reportid=4131 Skied Loon yesterday with a group of friends. Conditions were pretty good thanks to a couple inches of new snow overnight, which made the first few runs very nice, though quite a bit of ice was showing on some trails by the end of the day. It was pretty busy due to the holiday, but lift lines weren’t too bad considering that, except for possibly the gondola which I did not ride today. It would have been nice if they were running the East Basin Double to offer another lift option, and I think I definitely could have gotten more runs in if that were the case. It was snowing most of the day with a few breaks of sun, no wind, and temperatures in the upper teens. Photos: Lower Picked Rock Lower Bear Claw Lower Flume Big Dipper Jobber Cant Dog Skidder
skelley19 I am surprised the East Basin Double wasn’t running for you. I wonder if there is a mechanical issue? It was running both Saturday and Sunday the prior weekend when I was there so I would expect it to be running on a holiday weekend. Especially considering that Sunday I was there was not that busy and the gondola was only about a 5-10 minutes wait.
