I am gonna break this trip into three posts because I hit a lot of places and have a lot of pics.
Ag and I skied Owl’s Head to start off the trip. It snowed 3-4inches the night before so plenty of coverage. During the day around noon it poured on us while skiing. Before the rain we had some good views of the lake. The mountain is steep for its size and has tons of great tree runs.

The cafeteria at owls head was pretty solid. I was able to get a meal of fish and chips for ~$10 USD.

Ag got some ketchup chips and a carrot soup!

We left Owl’s Head soaking wet and stayed with some friends in Knowlton, QC. Overnight the temperature dropped and turned everything into a skating rink.
We skied Sutton the next day and it was probably the worst conditions I have ever skied. It was bullet proof ice with huge death cookies all over the mountain. Now for the bad news… A bit before lunch Ag caught and edge and whipped into the ground. She ended up dislocating her shoulder. She popped it back in and skied to the base of the lift we were at. From there we were able to get ski patrol to come check her out. The ski patrol at Sutton were super professional and took care of Ag with the utmost care. They had 3-4 patrollers and 3-4 mountain ops for sledding her out to the main base. She was in a lot of pain so I didn’t get the green light to post any pics of her in a sled this time. I drove her down to Newport VT and we got her an x-ray at the Newport hospital. While we were there I saw at least five people come through the doors wearing ski boots from Jay. The x-ray tech said they did 21 x-rays in 4 hours that day due to conditions out on the slopes. Ag was an absolute trooper! We got her a sling and headed back to Canada. She went to the doctor in MA later to get checked out. No serious tears and should be able ski again in 2-3 weeks!
That night after the hospital Sutton got 4-5inches. despite the hard crust underneath the skiing at Sutton was pretty solid. A lot of snow blew into the trees and there was great coverage. If you haven’t skied Mont Sutton it is definitely worth the trip. There are tons of glades, and a fun lay out. Also they have interesting natural sculptures spaced out all of the mountain.

Now onto the Chic Chocs!
