after my crystal Mountain visit a week ago Tuesday, I was supposed to go the following day to Caberfae But I just wasn’t feeling it with the wife so we just had a bloody. Mary stopped in there and went home after our Traverse City one nighter, saving my second reciprocal redemption for a later date. So the sun was shining and today was the day I had stopped into the demo center to talk to the gentleman about what types of skis they had just to see how old my skis were and see how the new models handled. Volkl was always a brand that intrigued my interest and they had a pair of 177 peregrine 82 something like that so I rented them today for 50 bucks. Let me tell you what what a difference they just wanted to turn as soon as you thought about it. Such a big difference. I probably should’ve snatched them up for 650 bucks or whatever they were, but I figure I can rent skis for 50 bucks several times keep trying out different ones but yeah, they really came a long way and the performance problem is the body is not performing as well as the skis are capable of.
Anyway it was a nice sunny day and the place was packed rode the lift every chairlift was full, and I talked to several people that were from school groups on a Friday before the national holiday and funny thing is on my way into boot up. I saw an employee with a Caberfae Jacket on and started talking to him and lo and behold. I had never met Pete Meyer MEY ER the co-owner and that was him so we chatted for seem like 10 minutes and yeah, it was quite a nice conversation and goes to show you that some owners will take the time to interact with their customers previously I had talked with Tim Meyer, but I did not see him there today with all the people out on the hill just providentially. I met Pete and it was a good . A very good taste in my mouth discussing some things with him between that and the demo skis and some conversations with several people in the weather had a great day so all my lower peninsula reciprocals are used up except for snow snake which I don’t think is going to get a visit, but you never know I still have my gut to desire to go back up to the UP again which has several Mount Bohemia reciprocal so I’ll see if we can convince the wife to let great grandpa go wandering again in a couple weeks.
