NewEnglandSkier13 True to their reputation as having one of the best snowmaking systems around, Lost Valley was the only ski area in the state to be 100% open today. Things started firm with groomed trails being excellent edgeable frozen granular, and ungroomed areas being very frozen and chattery. Because the only groomed trail off of Chair 3 was Logging Trail, they waited to open that lift until around noon. As things softened up, there were excellent spring conditions to be had across the mountain on groomed and ungroomed terrain. One of the best things about having three chairlifts now is how well it spreads out people. All three chairs were ski-on pretty much all day, and no area ever seemed crowded. It was impressive how much coverage there still was, and I suspect they’ll still be in pretty good shape for next week, even with the rain this week. snowphoenix Thanks for the report! I actually stopped by there at around 2:30 on my way home from Sugarloaf hoping to use my Indy Pass and ski for an hour or so, unfortunately the ticket office was closed by then. Looked like it was fun spring skiing, but boy was that parking lot muddy.
