ski_itJR tedede Correct. In years past we saw the GM fake fire all the ski instructors on the last day.
ski_it 81 left in the northeast. 21 in New England https://madpatski.wordpress.com/2026/04/09/post-easter-leftover-eastern-closing-thread-2026-week-2/
skelley19 I’m getting my last lift served Wawa day today. They have been closed since Saturday but I have to give it to the groomers for patching things back up to give 2 full runs off the summit, another 2 off the Minute Man lift and one bunny slope trail. Pond skim and closing day tomorrow but I’ll be up at Killington.
Quietman Okemo was good yesterday! Many runs that are good and deep, some that won’t last much longer with lots of oportunities for grass skiing. With Snow down to Carinthia only, Okemo was the obvious choice. 3.5 hr one way to Stowe was too much.
loafman207 Skied Sugarloaf on Saturday 4/11 and there is plenty of snow on the main trails. They’re spinning daily until at least 4/26. Hit Saddleback today, fantastic skiing as the mountain slowly melts out. They’re running it back 4/17-4/19 to close things out, I would expect them to have many if not all of their main snowmaking trails still open. Western Maine holding on strong!
NewEnglandSkier13 loafman207 I was also at Saddleback today! Good skiing, especially on the closed trails! I’m surprised they left so many natural trails and glades with good snow closed. They are not nearly as liberal as they were, even a couple years ago, about keeping trails open. No wonder people were ducking ropes constantly today. Not opening the top of Tight Line was also a very questionable choice.
slatham Both Bromley and Magic last day was Saturday April 4th. Stratton Sunday April 12th. Mount Ellen last day Sunday March 29th. The Gatehouse/North Linx pod last day was Sunday April 12th. Looks like a cold spell next week to help any who survive this week.
Beast Patroller Berkshire East last day was Saturday April 4th. With the exception of a handful of trails everything was open with decent coverage for April.
Beast Patroller Looks like after this weekend there will be only five areas in New England left open to ski! (3) in VT, (1) in NH, and (1) in Maine.
Chuckstah Stowe just announced that they will stay open as long as they can into spring, so maybe there will be 6 open. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1J17eQpp73/
Beast Patroller Chuckstah Sorry I didn’t see that! Being that Stowe is a Vail property I’m surprised that they’re staying open past this Sunday! Though as long as there’s enough snow it’s nice to see them push it. That will be good if they continue that moving forward.
skelley19 Jay, K, Stowe but who is the 4th in VT expected to still be going after this weekend? Wachusett’s long planned closing day and pond skim had been planned for the 12th but they bumped it up a day to the 11th and that was definitely the correct call as it was going quickly. I went when they reopened Friday the 10th and had a great time but the run in to Conifer and Hitchcok were comically thin and basically mud/snirt by the time I left at 3. I had an older board and didn’t mind it all and was just happy to be getting lift serviced turns in Mass this late in the season. All other guests seemed to be having a great time and understood what they were getting into. Coverage was fine after the thin run ins and there were lots of fast grass opportunities that some teens were having a blast with under the lift. Overall it was a great season there with abundant cold and snow from December into early March.
skelley19 Duh, thanks @Chuckstah that completely slipped my mind when I was running through the VT resorts in my head.
lotsoskiing skelley19 They are down to Valley House only, as usual for the end game. Closing midweek, then weekend(s) as long as the snow hangs in there.
DrJeff Okemo just announced on their socials, that today, Thursday the 16th, is their last day instead of this Sunday the 19th as they hoped for. Not surprising given how ugly things looked on their webcams this morning and with their AM snow report, before the heat of today (and likely liquid falling from the sky this evening again) I give them props for trying, as having skied their last Saturday with friends, I could of easily have seen them saying that last Sunday was going to be the last day given the forecast for this week as well as what their snow pack on the many of their trails last weekend was looking like…..
Beast Patroller DrJeff Yeah the cams do look sad! Surprised they don’t have other cams showing more of the mountain?
Dan I can’t see Stowe making it much past Sunday. I was there today. The usual bare spots on lots of trails but the worst thing is the top of the fourrunner is just a very narrow strip of snow turning right only.
