Help with Thanksgiving weekend turns

Ill be in northern Vt for Thanksgiving and do plan to ski at jay peak on the Indy pass during that time. I have the opertunity to travel back to CT via new york and would welcome some expertise on if any NY ski areas are historical open that weekend. Every option is on the table. Thanks in advance

I am not sure about any NY areas, but it is probably heavily dependent on weather season to season. If you have a passport, you could combine one of the Quebec areas that are just over the border from Jay pretty easily if you wanted. Although again I am not sure if they are typically open by Thanksgiving.

Found this: Whiteface opened 11/15/2025 weekends. Gore, Hunter and Belleayre opened 11/22/2025. Prob just Fri-Sun IDK.
Mt Van Hoevenberg 11/28/2025 daily. Catamount & Windham opened 12/5/2025. Bristol Mountain 12/6/2025. Plattekill Mountain on 12/13/2025.

I was hoping to see 2 ft powder at NYLSAP Hickory but IDK if they allow public access.

ski_it Their closing announcement stated they intended to re-open in some form; with construction on the lodge and a new webpage being designed in 2026.

Currently, their webpage is down and they haven’t posted on instagram since summer 2025. Hoping they figure something out whether its lift service or re-opened uphill access at least!

Know it gets harder and more expensive to re-certify lifts the longer they sit dormant - that’s for sure.

If I had millions of spare dollars around, this is a place I’d save. Incredible memories and the terrain rocks

I put a post in the Warrensburg facebook group - someone claims Hickory was sold and has new ownership, another said they went up their last month and there is now a gate and a no trespassing sign on the access road. Can’t corroborate the sale, but seems plausible with the latter info. Shame. Hopefully we’ll hear something official about it soon.
